Covid-19
Integrated Healing Touch Therapeutic Massage
Dear Clients,
Connecticut has released the updated guidelines for massage therapy and although things have changed, one thing has remained the same: the commitment to your safety and health. My practice follows infection control recommendations made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). This set of policies is a starting point and may be updated, as necessary, to continue the safety of massage. You may have additional questions or concerns. Please know I am here to answer any of them I can.
Changes you may notice include:
- I will be wearing a face shield and mask the entire time you see me.
- You will wear a face mask from the time you enter the building, for the duration of the massage, until you leave the building.
- Massage to the face is not allowed at this time.
- Family/friends are not permitted to wait in the reception area.
- My appointment times have changed slightly in order to allow enough time for disinfecting between clients.
- Due to an increase in expenses related to new regulations regarding Covid-19, massage rates have changed. The new rates are listed on our Fees & Services page.
By its very nature, massage requires skin-to-skin contact and as we modify existing measures due to the coronavirus, please help me to support all of my clients by cooperating with the new requirements.
Before your massage:
- I will communicate with you beforehand to obtain updates on your health information and ask you specifically about your potential exposure to Covid-19.
- I will ask you to sign an informal consent form that states, "I understand that close contact with people increases the risk of infection from Covid-19. By signing this form, I acknowledge that I am aware of the risks involved and give consent to receive a massage from this practitioner." This may also be sent as a text to you to reply "YES" to.
Day of massage:
- Call or text me when you arrive at the parking lot and wait in your vehicle until I notify you to come in. This ensures that we don't have too many people in the reception area at a time.
- You will confirm you have not developed any symptoms of illness since we spoke on the phone. If you feel ill on the day of your session, there is no penalty for canceling your appointment. Massage is not advised if you have any symptoms of illness.
- Please bring a face mask to use while you are in the building, and during your massage.
- I will ask you to use hand sanitizer when you enter the office. You will also find hand sanitizer in the treatment room for you to use as needed. Please do not wear gloves into the office.
- After your massage you will use hand sanitizer before you open the treatment room door to let me know you are ready. At that point I will come back into the room to recommend exercises if necessary, schedule your next appointment, and take payment for your session.
I look forward to seeing you again and I am happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps I take to keep you, and every client, safe in my practice. To make an appointment, please call or text me at 203-449-5624. My practice is scheduled to open on Saturday, June 20th.
Thank you for choosing me as your massage therapist. I am so excited to get back to work and support your health and wellness. I value your loyalty and trust and look forward to welcoming you back to a safe, therapeutic environment.
Namaste,
Tomas
